How we treat Depression
Psychiatric care, structured talking therapy, non-invasive brain stimulation where indicated, and Ayurvedic and mind-body support, combined into one plan.
Depression rarely has one cause, so we treat it on several levels at once. A psychiatric assessment decides whether medication, therapy or both make sense. Evidence-based psychotherapy such as CBT works on thinking and behaviour patterns, and for depression that has not responded to first-line care, non-invasive options like rTMS may be considered. Sleep, gut health, movement and stress physiology are addressed alongside, with Ayurvedic therapies such as Shirodhara and yoga used as supportive layers.
| Step | What happens | Options |
|---|---|---|
Psychiatric assessment | Mood history, severity, safety, sleep and physical health, plus any previous treatments and how they went. | None at this step |
Personal plan | Medication, therapy or both, chosen with you, with clear reasons for each part. | None at this step |
Treatment & support | Regular therapy sessions, medication review where used, and supportive mind-body or Ayurvedic care. | None at this step |
Measure & review | Symptoms are tracked with standard scales so the plan changes when progress stalls. | None at this step |
What your plan can include
Not every patient receives every therapy below. Your plan is built from these options after assessment, based on what is clinically appropriate for you.
Ayurveda & integrative care
Ayurvedic and integrative therapies layered onto the plan as support, never as a substitute for necessary medical care.
Medical care & diagnostics
Specialist-led medical management and the tests that tell us what is actually driving symptoms.
Therapy & rehabilitation
Structured, goal-based therapy sessions that build skills and function week by week.
Neuromodulation & brain technology
Usually considered when depression has not responded adequately to medication and therapy.
